Mākua Beach
Located towards the far west side of the island, Mākua Beach is home to several hidden gems that provide great seclusion. You’ll feel as if you are in your own world as you explore the shaded forest and beach with mountain backgrounds. This location works best during sunset hour.
Waimanalo Beach
Wake up bright and early to come to Waimanalo Beach! Located on the East side of the island, this location is closer to Waikiki and works best in the early morning light. With both beach and forest backdrops, Waimanalo Beach has plenty to choose from.
Kawela Bay Beach
Dense forests with tall trees and soft sand beaches, this location has it all! Kawela Bay Beach is just down the street from Oahu’s famous Turtle Bay hotel. The long drive from town means you get your own private forest with a beach that glows during sunset.
Ka’ena Point Trail
For those looking for some adventure, Ka’ena Point Trail is the answer for you! Drive up north past Dillingham Airfield to find this hiking trail with tall grass, soft sand beaches, and mountainous backgrounds. This trail is no more than a 10 minute walk from the parking lot but offers excellent seclusion along with beautiful sunrise and sunset light.
Chinatown
Don’t feel like venturing far from town? Then Oahu’s Chinatown has you covered! As we explore the city, we’ll be getting tons of variety with different architecture, street photos, and cityscapes. This is not a location for seclusion but it comes with the perk of a short commute.
Kaka’ako Waterfront Park
With a mix between urban and park backdrops, Kaka’ako Waterfront Park is a great choice with a convenient location that’s close to town. This location shines best in the early mornings when the park is less crowded and the sunrise colors fill the cityscape.
